Community
Lycoming Audubon Society welcomes everyone, no experience necessary, to explore the world of birds and conservation. Whether it’s joining a guided field trip, planting native gardens, or maintaining nest boxes, there’s a role for every interest and skill level. Volunteers teach youth, staff community events, collect citizen science data, and pitch in on quarterly cleanups. Curiosity is the only requirement! Loaner binoculars are even provided on field trips, so newcomers can jump right in. However you’d like to get involved, Lycoming Audubon makes it easy to find your place in the flock.
Field Trips with Lycoming Audubon Society
Field trip updates and pop-up field trips are announced on the LAS Listserv. In the spring and fall field trips are held most Saturday mornings.
**Loaner binoculars will be available for all LAS trips**

Volunteer at an Event
Lycoming Audubon offers hands-on ways to give back to the natural world. Conservation volunteers help with habitat restoration projects and maintain nest boxes. Education volunteers assist with youth programs and staff public tabling events. Community-minded volunteers participate in our Adopt-a-Highway cleanups. Field trips are led by experieced birders and we have opportunities for citizen scientists to collect and share data.
