This will be a doubleheader! (8 and 10AM)

First, join us at the picnic area on Route 15 South at 8AM. Skyline Drive is closed to vehicular traffic, but the paved road is quite walkable, gently ascending the slope of Bald Eagle Mountain. We expect to see and hear resident sylvan birds typical of a mixed PA forest. Fall warblers, migrating hawks, and the perennial residents of the woods.

Then at 10AM, we will move to the Route 15 overlook with its easy parking, handicapped accessible, and the spectacular view of the Susquehanna Valley. This is often a prime time to view kettles of Broad-winged Hawks and given favorable weather and good fortune, we may be lucky to see some. Smaller numbers of several other species are usually viewed. Bring a comfortable lawn chair.

Directions: Parking area /rest stop off Route 15 SOUTH, 3 miles from Beiter’s Furniture in South Williamsport. **Note** There is no access from Route 15 North, use the jug handle 1 mile past Scenic Overlook to backtrack.
